Ride experience[]

[2][3]The double drop of White Water Landing at nightAs part of the Frontiertown area of the park, White Water Landing embraced an Appalachian river ride theme. The revolving station featured boats alongside a rustic warehouse before they turned along the edge of a lagoon and approached the ride's first lift - a conveyor that gently elevated the canoes through a mine shaft and splashed them into a faster section of river. A few quick turns along the rapids and the canoes approached the second lift, which raised riders to the treetops at a height of 50 feet.

Canoes alternated which of the identical chutes to drop down, then skimmed the hydro-jump before floating alongside the lagoon as they returned to the station.[1]

Incident[]

On July 20, 2002, two of the boats got jammed together at the bottom of the hill. When the next boat came down the hill, it collided with the two other boats causing minor injuries. All six people were sent to a local hospital and released.

Demolition[]

At the end of the 2005 season, it was announced that White Water Landing would be closing to make room for another attraction. The attraction was unknown until on September 7, 2006 when the park released their 21 million dollar investment, Maverick. Its station and queue is still intact, and used for Maverick.[2] There is still a concrete section of the track from White Water Landing located by the queue, before entering the final queue area, or White Water Landing's former loading platform. The track segment is used as a small stream. The ride was similar to the defunct Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal at Kings Island.
